Since 2005, I've been teaching in public primary schools in Kilifi County, Kenya. Teaching has been an exciting experience that has rounded out a part of me. As a teacher, I've always lived by the mantra, "Service to humanity is service to God." Kilifi County is one of Kenya's semi-arid areas, where many children have only obtained a basic education due to the community's low economic status. One of the most difficult issues I've had to deal with is keeping girls in school, as there is a high dropout rate due to child marriage and early pregnancies. One of my greatest accomplishments in my mission has been keeping expectant girls in school until they have completed their primary school education and possibly even higher levels of learning.
